Built a Multi-Lingual Web Site

Recently I got a new job to build a web-site for a non-profit that is based in Guatemala.  I built the site using WordPress like I do for most of the sites I’ve built lately, but this time there was a requirement to make the site multi-lingual.  Hmmm, how hard would that be?  But it was surprisingly simple.  I just purchased the WPML plugin for $29, installed it, activated it, chose my languages in the settings, and voilà!  Now I could have two versions of each page – one in English and one in Spanish – and put a link at the top of the page for the user to select their language of preference.  Now I can check that requirement off the list!
