I came up with this idea when I was making pancakes for breakfast and was thinking about what I should make for dinner. So I decided to take the same cookbook I was using for pancakes, closed it, shut my eyes, and open it back up, and make what was on that page. Fortunately fate was really on my side for this one, because I opened it up to tomato soup. Not only is this one of Nadine’s most favorite things to eat, I had a ton of tomatoes in my garden that I needed to harvest. On top of that, the soup came out amazing, and I had enough to put in the kids’ lunches for a couple of days. Oh the serendipity! (Is that the best word?)
