Seafair happens in Seattle every year, and I guess it’s just a summer-long celebration of summer in Seattle, redundantly speaking. It culminates this weekend on Lake Washington with hydro-plane races and an air show including the Blue Angels. In the past I’ve experienced this festivity from land, at a friend’s house nearby, but this year we decided to join our friends on their boat, and get right into the thick of it. It was a blast.
I jumped off the boat and swam in the lake the whole time the Blue Angels flew overhead. The water was delicious (as my dad would say) and they did a nice long show. Then we drove the boat into the thick of the party and it was a battle. The kids were squirting the other boats with their water blasters and getting pegged with water balloons in retaliation. I, on the other hand, was fascinated with the big party boats and the bikini-clad girls. I know I sound like an old lady when I say oh my god their butts were just totally hanging out!. But let’s just say that the bikini’s of my day were much less wedgie looking.
It was a super fun day and I’m so glad I got to experience the Seafair I’d heard about for years. Check out the scene:
