I have been wanting to try to make my own pickles for a long time, so this year I decided to plant pickling cucumbers in my garden. Unfortunately they didn’t do that great. I planted them next to nasturtiums that got some icky bug on them, and those bugs liked my cucumber flowers as well. Darn them.
But I did get two very nice cucumbers, which isn’t a lot to make pickles with, but I was determined to try anyway. So I read up on the process, and decided I’d follow this one since the processing time was less, which seemed to me would make the pickles crispier. I haven’t tried them yet (I need to wait a few weeks) but they looks very pretty in their jars, sitting on top of my fridge.
