Until now, I never...
Made my own Pillow Piping

Sewing

I silk-screened a bunch of fabric squares, and now I was ready to make some pillows.  The white ink on the colored squares looked nice, but they needed some extra punch, so I decided to try some piping.  But this seemed complicated.  I’d never made piping, much less sewed it into a pillow, and there would need to be zipper.  Good grief…

Thank God for YouTube!  I got all of the instruction I needed for each step of the way.  So I ironed down some black bias tape I had, laid the piping rope down the middle, folded it over, and sewed it up using the zipper foot on my sewing machine.  Not only was it easy to do, it took a matter of minutes and it was fun.  Now all I have to do is attach it to the pillow, put in the zipper, and sew around the edges and I’ll have my first pillow.

To be continued…
